It achieves this status both through its size and through its commitment to professionalisation, leading the way in ensuring comprehensive compliance with established and emerging fire safety standards and actively contributing to the highest standards of construction practice.

CERTIFICATION

Leading certif­ication, reflecting regulatory compliance

Sentry’s extensive certification portfolio includes primary independent testing via BM Trada and Certifire; Secured by Design certification and one of the few companies nationally to have achieved Q-Mark dual certification for its flat entrance door sets. Sentry Fire Safety Group was also the first UK organisation to be accredited to the new UKCA standards. We also embrace the need to positively contribute to the Golden Thread – guidance which ensures that installation and maintenance records are transparently available for end-users and inspectors, through its simple, effective door tagging solution powered by Door Data Systems.

Sentry Fire Safety Group, therefore, offers a powerful partnership for those implementing the Fire Safety Regulations which came into force in January 2023. It also continually invests in its product development and compliance to reflect emerging regulatory demands.

INVESTMENT

Invest­ment and expansion

Our investor, Cairngorm Capital, backed the expansion of Sentry Fire Safety Group into additional markets through the acquisition of 100-year-old E & S W Knowles company in 2022. This ensured the provision of veneered and lacquered doorsets into complementary markets such as student accommodation and healthcare. Knowles is now integrated into the Group and its range incorporated within our extensive catalogue.

We have continued to invest in Sentry Fire Safety Group to ensure that the company is well equipped to respond to regulatory change and increased market demand, substantially expanding manufacturing capacity and extending geographic distribution.

SUSTAINABILITY

Sustain­ability and social value

Timber has the lowest embodied carbon footprint of any building material, but Sentry Fire Safety Group also holds FSC accreditation, meaning that all our materials are renewed. This is one element of an extensive Environmental Social Governance programme with commitments to providing secure, local employment in a safe environment and to charities that reflect our values.

Ty Aziz

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

A pragmatic CEO with 25 years’ experience in the fire door sector, Ty directs the business with a proactive and personable approach. Initially employed as a Bench Joiner, Ty has a practical and thorough understanding of joinery manufacturing and production. This in-depth knowledge means he can drive product developments and improvements to expand the business.

Jon Gatfield

EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN

Jon is an Operating Partner at Cairngorm Capital and Executive Chairman of Sentry Fire Safety Group. He has a deep-rooted experience in manufacturing and logistics and thrives in situations that demand rapid transformation. Jon takes a dynamic approach to leading and inspiring the management team in order to deliver positive change and performance improvement.

Lizzie Hay

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Lizzie is a skilled finance professional with over ten years’ experience leading the financial operations at board level, with particular experience in manufacturing, engineering, and property. A fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, Lizzie has expertise in building successful finance teams and developing processes, managing change, banking, audit, and financial reporting.

Emma Geddes

FINANCE DIRECTOR

An integral member of the team and working operationally at board level, Emma has over 25 years’ experience in accountancy with particular experience in hauliers, manufacturing, timber merchants and retail. Emma brings her vast experience from working as a Management Accountant in a private practice accountancy. Overseeing all aspects of accountancy with particular attention to margin and business overheads, Emma plays an active part in driving the business forward.

Catherine Clarkson

HEAD OF STRATEGY AND MARKETING

Catherine holds a degree in Architecture, and this paved the way for a career in the construction industry with specific emphasis on sales and marketing. With an extensive knowledge of the industry and a deep understanding of joinery manufacturing, Catherine is looking forward to developing strategies that will lead to enhanced brand awareness and significant business growth for Sentry Doors. Creative at heart, Catherine enjoys sketching, and is a keen badminton player.

Craig Peckett

OPERATIONS DIRECTOR (DONCASTER SITE)

Craig is an energetic Operations Director with a successful and demonstrable track record of delivering tangible results through effective management and operational performance. A methodical and forward thinker, Craig has significant experience leading fast-paced manufacturing businesses to achieve business goals.

Steve Horner

OPERATIONS DIRECTOR (BIRMINGHAM SITE)

Steve is a dedicated Operations Director with over 25 years’ experience within manufacturing with a focus on building strong teams and driving operation improvements that result in positive business change. Steve has an in-depth technical knowledge of the construction industry and is a persuasive leader.

Martin Phillips

SALES DIRECTOR

Martin is a highly successful Sales Director with over x30+ years of international B2B experience. Having worked with Elite brands such as Hitachi, Samsung and IBM, plus up & coming SME’s, he has a track record of rapidly analysing business data, developing measurable commercial & sales strategies that improve business performance, supported by processes and key performance tracking to ensure success.
